Non-Profit of the Year: Project H.O.M.E - The mission of the Project H.O.M.E. community is to empower adults, children, and families to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty, to alleviate the underlying causes of poverty, and to enable all of us to attain our fullest potential as individuals and as members of the broader society. I met these very cute little girls and Project H.O.M.E Coordinator, Lauren Millner at the Emma Thompson, Nanny McPhee Returns Philadelphia Library Event, (click for post) I've been fond of the organization ever since.
Festival or Gathering of the Year : Is there any other choice? The 19th Philadelphia Film Festival! PFF should win for my blog coverage alone ;) Phoodie of the Year: Valerie Safran and Marcie Turney I just discovered they own and operate Open House (107 S. 13th Street) Lolita (106 S. 13th Street) Grocery (101 S. 13th Street) and Bindi (150 S. 13th Street) Now that's entrepenurialism at its best!
