So tomorrow is Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras,
Shrove Tuesday!
And Philly is alive with indulge all night then give it up Wednesday (Ash) festivities:

Before Mardi Gras was an over the top New Orleans carnival, it was a day in France for getting rid of foods forbidden at Lent, like eggs and dairy, and eating as much as possible before fasting. In a few words: it was a day for crepes.
If getting crunk and donning beads is unappealing, celebrating Fat Tuesday by gorging on crepes is a totally authentic alternative. Luckily, Philly has no shortage of places to do that.... Continued Grub Street.com

This was my first time baking a King Cake and if I say so myself, I think it looks pretty good! How could homemade, sweet yeast bread filled with brown sugar, butter, pecans and cinnamon which is then rolled into a coffeecake, baked and topped with icing be bad? It can’t! This was scrumptious!
