I recommend Sabrina's Cafe (910 Christian Street) every time I put a forkful of this whipped with ginger superb side dish to my lips, I was in orange heaven!
Sabrina's is usually more thought of as a Sunday brunch kinda spot, probably because they have a great Sunday Brunch menu and because the atmosphere is part corner drugstore and part low budget B& B - However, you are missing out if you do not go for dinner. There are 3 male African American Chefs in the kitchen that put a hurt'n on a meal. The food tastes like a big momma cooked it for a Sunday family dinner, being sure to sprinkle each dish with plenty of love. Surprisingly, this does not mean they offer only comfort food, the menu is more fine dining, such as: Pear Walnut Salad, Goat Cheese Ravioli's filled with butternut squash, portabellos, pine nuts, in a blush sauce and melted leeks, Pecan Crusted Trout, Chicken Scallopine with wild mushrooms and a Sherry sauce, even their Meatloaf is stuffed with artichokes, red peppers, fresh mozzarella and topped with a rosemary gravy.
The prices are moderate (BYOB).
Rating: Pretty Big Toe
