Positano Coast (Aldo Lamberti)

Thursday, September 4, 2008

All the free flowing Wine in "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" had me feeling parched, so to continue my afternoon delight, I went over to the Italian Restaurant across the street from the theater called Positano Coast . This restaurant captures the essence of a carefree, sunny Italian holiday.

The menu is one in which sharing of small plates is encouraged. Being by myself at 3pm, I opted for just the Stuff Fried Calamari- filled with cherry pepper cream cheese and spinach. Which to my palate was perfectly accompanied with a Malbec Terra Rosa 2003, not a Spanish wine, but Argentinian. I consider myself quite the aspiring epicurean, however, this was my first Stuffed Calamari. Far more appealing than a Jalapeno popper, it's lightly breaded and fried and cut in a rounded cone shape.

Then it was on to Greece... Well, Mamma Mia!
